Every day for the entire month of July, Minister Green, his wife, and staff, travel up Broad st to Center city, stopping at separate locations to hand out food, clothing, and the gospel in the city of Philadelphia.
Pastoral outreach is by definition members of a church who perform outreach to the wider community. These members often visit people confined in hospitals or prisons, offer emotional support and necessities to homeless people living unsheltered on the street.
Minister Green and his team have been doing this month long outreach for the past three (3) years on Broad street.
Some people would be surprised to know that Philadelphia, despite its bad reputation for gun violence, has the lowest rate of homeless out of all the largest American U.S cities.
However, the state of Pennsylvania does fall number ten (10) on the list of top ten states with homeless people. Hmmn? That says quite a bit about the citizens of Philadelphia who live in the largest city in the state with the lowest homeless population.
Currently we are estimated to have 5700 homeless people with 950 who are outdoors and unsheltered.
Minister Green and his wife are members of the Greater Exodus Baptist Church located on 704-714 Broad street.
Legal Eagles would like to give recognition to all the churches in Philadelphia that do this work. (i.e Broad street Ministries, The Chosen 300, The Salvation Army, and many, many more!)
